The Royal Dutch Mint struck a special coin in memory of Bibian Mentel in March 2022. The coin, appeared in gold, silver and nickel varieties, were struck in limited editions.
The Royal Dutch Mint issues several (commemorative) coins each year to honor important persons, events or themes. Once or twice a year they issue a coin for a good cause, with a portion of the proceeds going to the charity in question.
A total of 5,000 copies of the nickel variant were minted and were issued once. The coin is not an official means of payment.
