Festive opening of first Bibian Mentel Playground on July 6

On July 6, the Mentelity Foundation will open the first Bibian Mentel Playground in Loosdrecht. To celebrate this grand opening everyone is cordially invited to attend the opening and use the Playground right away. 

The Bibian Mentel Playground consists of a pumptrack and an inclusive playground. A pumptrack is a paved dirt track that people can scoot, bike, skate or board through. The pumptrack at the Playground will also have a special track that is wheelchair accessible and for beginners to practice on. It is one of the largest tracks in Europe and meets the requirements of the Cycling Federation. So in the future, World Cup races can be held there.

The first Bibian Mentel Playground will be built on Het Jagerspaadje on the border of Hilversum and Loosdrecht, between sports clubs. It is a stone's throw from Bibian and Edwin's house. The fact that the first Playground will be practically in their backyard makes it extra special.

The Bibian Mentel Playground will be festively opened Wednesday, July 6 from 2:00 p.m. onwards. On that day, everyone is welcome until 7 p.m. to try out the track, pros will give clinics in the track, music will be provided by the Red Bull Truck and several food trucks will be present. The Mentelity Foundation had long had the idea of creating inclusive playgrounds. In 2019, when the Loosdrecht brothers Ty and Jazz knocked on Bibian Mentel's door for help to realize a pumptrack in their hometown, the collaboration was quickly clinched. The brothers had come across a pumptrack on their vacation and were so excited that they wanted one in their own hometown.

The Bibian Mentel Playground was realized in cooperation with the municipalities of Wijdemeren, Hilversum, Colgate Netherlands, Velosolutions and the efforts of brothers Ty and Jazz. Thank you for supporting Bibian's dreams.
