Bibian, forever in our hearts

On Monday, March 29, 2021, our founder but mostly loving friend Bibian passed away. Bibian, mother, husband and multiple Paralympic champion snowboarder, passed away at home from the effects of metastatic bone cancer. She was 48 years old.

Bibian learned in early March of this year that metastases of bone cancer had been found in her head and treatment was no longer possible. After a few wonderful weeks filled with love, reminiscing and making new memories, she is now at peace.

For 48 years, Bibian was allowed to fill the lives of her family, family and friends with an unprecedented amount of love. In addition, with her optimism, vitality and commitment to those with physical challenges, she has shown the Netherlands that life is too beautiful not to celebrate, regardless of the challenges that come your way.

We are incredibly sad, but also filled with pride because of what Bibian has accomplished in her life. The Netherlands lost a wonderful person and figurehead today. But Bibian's dreams will come true, her work will continue and her legacy should never be lost.
